Pastor Steve has served Sandy Plains since 2006. He has been the pastor of churches in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. While serving in Tennessee he was elected as President of the Tennessee Baptist Convention Pastors' Conference. Pastor Hensley is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Eckerd College and Trinity Theological Seminary. He also studied at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and was awarded the honorary Doctor of Divinity from South Atlantic Theological Seminary in 1999. He and wife Connie have two grown children.

Dear Friend,
It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Sandy Plains is a loving and joyful Southern Baptist Church. Our services are full of laughter, joy, and praise. In John 10:10, Jesus said He not only came to give us eternal life in Heaven, but also abundant life here and now, so we "abundantly" live, serve and worship.

Sandy Plains also has wonderful ministries led by fantastic staff members. You will discover they are gifted, anointed and caring leaders who are here to serve God through their respective positions. I am so proud to have them serving with me. They, along with all our volunteer leaders, provide a dynamic ministry for all ages and interests.

Through prayer, you can receive forgiveness and begin your relationship with Jesus Christ right now

What Does It Take To Do This?

Admit to God that you are a sinner and that you are turning from your sins.
Believe in Jesus and thank Him for dying on the cross and rising from the dead to give you eternal life.
Commit your life to Christ by asking Him to come into your life as your Savior and Lord.
Start by praying this prayer:

Oh Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that my sin has kept me from knowing you. I believe You died for my sin. I
know that by believing in your death and resurrection I can have forgiveness and eternal life. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to become my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me. Amen.

Joining Sandy Plains Baptist Church

You may become a part of this fellowship in several different ways, depending upon your circumstances.
You may come forward during the invitation at the conclusion of the service and share your desire with the pastor.
